Romanian music producer, artist, and DJ, VIIIAIN, has announced that he is currently working on his next album, set for release in 2025.
“The next album is shaping pretty well so far,” VIIIAIN shared. “It’s still in its early stages and I’m currently bouncing ideas. I’m not sure where it’s gonna go from here, but anything is possible. The only certain things I can tell you right now about the new album is that I hope to release it next year, and that it will be released only in physical format.”
When asked about his decision to release the album solely in physical format, VIIIAIN expressed his growing frustration with streaming services. “Every day I’m growing tired of the streaming services and all that comes with it. There’s a constant feeling of worthlessness when it comes to music, and I’m not even considering the financial aspects,” he explained. “For me, it’s pretty useless to have a lot of followers on social media and only be able to generate a little over 1,000, 2,000, or even 10,000 streams. Judging by the way streaming is usually paid, I can safely say that if I’d sell 200 CDs or USBs, whatever, I’d cover the production expenses and retain significant profits. All this with just 200 units sold. Imagine what 10,000 means.”
VIIIAIN’s bold move towards a purely physical release signifies a shift towards a truly independent approach in the coming year, and we can't wait to witness it all.
